They don't call this the windward side for nuthin'! However, there are bigger waves to be had certainly. The north shore boasts something called the "pipeline". We have yet to see it for ourselves, but I think we'll be leaving the boogie boards in the car that day!
Didn't that look like fun! (You click on the arrow for action!)
Below, I am snorkeling in Lanikai. I see rocks, coral and colorful fish 15 feet below me.
Below,I am one of the snorkelers in this bunch. Me and my dad saw a sea turtle and an eel!
This is a sand castle I made(the hole is as long as my arm!).
below: Hiding in these leaves is a gecko, can you find it?
above: I am looking over Kailua, on the left side of the hillcrest. Lanikai (my neighborhood) is on the right side of the hillcrest.
above: I am looking into an army lookout building from above the ladder hole on the roof of the bilding on the top of the hill.
below: I am looking out over Lanikai from the peephole in the lookout.
Joe Rose is enjoying watching Noah and Silas on their adventure. Joe would really to know about the army peephole. Why are the army people not in the picture? Lots of history to explain there. Thanks guys. Miss you.
ReplyDeleteHi prettiest songs! Tell Joe that the army people weren't there that day, but they were on Dec. 7, 1941...and they saw the Japanese planes on their way to Pearl Harbor, but were unable to get a message to the right people....pretty interesting stuff we're seeing and learning....but we are missing friends. We're on our own in our little nuclear family a lot! Can't wait to see you, and if anyone thinks they might be able to take advantage of those deals offered through "cheapflights" (437$ flights), there's a very comfortable place waiting to share with you in paradise!
ReplyDeleteOh it is so nice to hear back from you. Thank you so much for the offer. This Rose bunch could sure use a little visit to paradise. Who knows. Once Spring really really gets here we will be better. We love seeing your blog posts. Miss you around the hood but what stories you will have for us around the campfire when you get home.
ReplyDeleteWhen will you be back in Madison, Susan? We have a potential opening for you in the Learning Center. Email me at cleeder@uwhealth.org or call 608-288-1202 or 608-219-7820.
ReplyDeleteNoah, I enjoyed reading your posts to Savannah today. She loved hearing about your adventures! She wants you to know she will be seeing the Hannah Montanna movie tomorrow... it's no volcanoe, but it's a small adventure for a small girl. Miss you all!
